The ship “Ever Given Given”, which had been stranded in the Suez Canal for several days in March, arrived at the Netherlands port of Rotterdam on Thursday after being released by Egypt authorities days ago.
The Dutch port said the ship would stay at that site to download goods by August 3rd, while then leaving for Felixsstone in England, Reuters writes.
One of the largest ships in the world, “Ever Geven” was stranded in the Suez Canal due to the strong wind on March 23rd, blocking circulation and causing major obstacles to world trade.
About 15 percent of global water transport is developed through the Suez Canal, which makes the shortest waterway between Europe and Asia.
The 400m-long ship, which is loaded with about 18,300 cargo containers, left Egypt on July 7th, 106 days after its undesirable stay in Egypt.
