Kosovo police have arrested a Serb national on the Mitrovica-Pristina National Road, which after accepting a traffic fine, had offered bribes to police officials.
As police reports, the Serbian citizen had offered $1000 to police officials.
“Today, on 30.07.2021, the police unit during implementation of the Operational Plan ʹSecurity in Traffic), respectively, during the speed check of vehicles at a checkpoint, on the National Mitrovica-Pristina (in Vushtrri), has stopped a vehicle, whose leader had exceeded the allowed speed.
Police officials, after stopping the car, let its leaders know the reason for the ban. During the time police officials were weighing the fine for over-speed, suspect B.J., birth year 1978, the Serbian male, has asked police officials not to pronounce tickets and has offered them 1,000 (a thousand) dinars (from Serbia's currency)”, Kosovo Police report.
On the other hand, the report said police officials have been inviting to the scene the PK's investigation unit, which have initiated bribery case, confiscated the bill.
Suspect has been arrested and sent to the police station. After interviewing the suspect, with the decision of the guardian prosecutor, he has been assigned a 48-hour detention measure.
