Security expert: There are more than 11 repatriated, three brothers from Malisheva were in Syria

But, Kosovo Institute for International Studies Director for Security Bedri Elez said he does not believe there is only that.

On Saturday we had a confirmation from the minister that 11 Kosovo citizens have returned, which number I don't believe is just that, but there are more, some fighters must have returned or repatriated as well”, he said.

Elez added that they had information that this repatriation would take place.

We've had continuous information, even one day before the repatriation, exactly on Friday we have a text that we said soon the repatriation of women, children and others, and so it happened”, Elez added.

He also discussed the case of three brothers from Malisevo, where two of them have died and one of them is among the last returnees from Syria.

“Three brothers Hasani from Malisevo were in Syria one was killed in 2018, one died as a result of COVID-19, and one seems to be back now, in this group of returnees, which I cannot confirm”, the director said.

Elez indicated that there has been a meeting with Minister Svechla, with whom they have discussed the American demand for this repatriation, whose number of people, according to Elez, is greater, and that nonreparance creates more opportunities for abuse.

“It's a financial cost, it's an expense for their reintegration, they're constantly being backed up by the state, whatever it is with housing and food, but we don't know anything about how much that cost is, what are the legal tender procedures of those services they get, I doubt this nontransparance creates more amula and creates more opportunities for eventual abuse”, Elez added.

The security expert also spoke of procedures after their return, stressing that victims were given medical assistance, then their verification is made, and after some procedures they prepare for return to their families.
