RTK Board reacts: Voting on dismissal of members produces constitutional violations

Voting for the dismissal of the RTK Board members produces constitutional violations from the Kosovo Parliament, because such a decision is contrary to the law, violates the constitutional rights of the RTK Board members, stemming from their legal mandate.

The dismissal initiatives argued in none of their claims on which task the members had not met at the RTK Board. Such an approach, in terms of material and procedural, makes the decision to dismiss the RTK Board, illegal, political, arbitrary and long-term consequences for the public broadcaster.

Among other things, such a procedure followed by the dismissal of members of the RTK Board, which is not defined by law, violates all fundamental principles that are determined by law in force.

Board RTK considers that, the political campaign against the single public media in Kosovo, structured on falsehoods and undesirable claims, aims to instrumentalise the public broadcaster for political reasons.

Board RTK has always been open to answer the Kosovo Assembly, as the founder of RTK, on any issues related to his mission.

For this action, Board of Israel RTK will again announce all local and international mechanisms, including EBU, the OSCE, as well as other international missions in Kosovo.
