The removal of increased trend doctors is required to change the Health Law

In the six months of 2021, there have been increased requests for proof by doctors to leave Kosovo. From this community, they say that to stop this trend, the Law on Health and to become the Law of Pays should be changed. The chairman of the Kosovo Medical Oda, Plerat Sejdiu, said the procedures for this year's departure of doctors are expected to run until 120.
On the other hand, he said they are at the conclusion of a survey, which they will publish within the next two weeks about the satifation young doctors have during their schooling in Kosovo.
Over the last three years, we've had a total of 110 doctors going up to 80% of them every year, and in the first six months, we've had an increase where 62 doctors have received confirmation to leave Kosovo that if it goes with this project, we have 120 doctors leaving. An increase which in spite of these blockades, both by Covid, for direct communication and direct contact and visa. So this trend has only signaled that it will grow and be distressing. The fact that providing specializations was in large measure wasn't enough to stay here because it was working and specialized conditions in the first place. It is definitely a matter of building capacity to offer training and education to these doctors in the way that their working conditions and schooling are properly lacking. We are now at the conclusion of a survey that we will publish within the next two weeks about the satisfaction or satisphaciation that young doctors have during their schooling in Kosovo. All are concerned about the quality of education and phase two of their professional schooling”, Sejdiu told EO.
While the president of the Federation of Health Union in Kosovo, Blerim Syla, has said that at the time of the pandemic, the current government interrupted those few doctors' incentives and rational nurses he calls banals.
On the other hand, he said that not only nurses and doctors but young people are leaving the country, adding that only this year have he been asked to leave about 100 doctors.
When we doctors and nurses were heroes, we worked over and over again. But right at the time of the pandemic, the current government has interrupted those few more banal stimuli. This is an example of insulting the dignity and integrity of health workers. And you can't expect these guys to sit back and wait for the fourth wave. Young people have energy and opportunities that require that as many as possible go abroad not only doctors but also nurses for whom there are great demands from Europe not only from Germany. There are close 100 doctors so far who have been looking for a departure, and when we see this statistics that every day 100 to 150 for Kosovo is the huge loss”, Syla said.
He said there are no actual job schemes and proper, more political specialisations.
Syla stressed that the federation has asked the current government to change the Law on Health and become the Law of Pays.
The first “The first job is that doctors do not have actual job schematics. And the second is that we don't have the right specializations because they're political specializations. Even more importantly, the salary is because today a Kosovo specialist pays 600 euros and a nurse with 377 euros. It takes more health investment. Young people are looking at life differently and don't want to raise children here and want to create life where they see economic stability. The Federation has also sought out the current government. There are two important things, the first to become the Health Law as soon as possible, which should be changed and taken into account the demands of doctors, Trade Union and Oda, in which we have seen that the newly graduated doctors immediately enter the labor system either as general doctors or in departments. The second is the Law of Pays. If the current government does not approve of it as it has in advance in legislation where there will be stabilisation of wages, then without these two laws in the next year it will be even more of a health disaster”, he told EO.
