Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has indirectly stinged his Kosovo counterpart Albin Kurti, who strongly opposes the regional initiative “Mini-Sengen”, which from today will be called “Open Balkan”.
Rama, at the Regional Economic Forum in Skopje, took an example of the countries in the region's readiness to help Albania when it was hit by the earthquake, saying it is the spirit of this initiative.
When in November 2019 the earthquake struck in Albania were the search-saving forces from countries in the region that quickly arrived and among them were the search-for-saving forces from Serbia and Northern Macedonia. What we realized at that tragic moment is that we realized how important it was not to feel alone and how valuable it was that in a ruined terrain where there were hundreds of lives in ruins to have more forces”.
Now we've actually signed an agreement to be together in any case where any of our countries are facing the forces of nature far away. Now tell me or take me one of the many smarters than I do and tell me what harm there would be for Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to join this initiative which opens the way for our emergency forces to interact together, train together at times, have a common alarm system and jointly be there to help, or in the event that all climate changes or criminal activities of all forests burn. What's wrong with the helicopters of our countries being there together so that the special forces for the fires are all together? This is the spirit of this initiative”.
