Rahoveci elected most transparent municipality in the country

Top five most transparent municipalities for 2020 are estimated to be Rahoveci, Lipjan, Drenas, Gjakova and South Mitrovica.
The report “Transparometers 2020 & Transparency of municipalities in retrospect” published today by the Kosovo Democratic Institute(KDI), reveals the level of transparency of local institutions in Kosovo's 38 municipalities, based on the 48 selected equal indicators of legal obligations and administrative guidelines regulating the work and functioning of local government institutions.
Ismet KDI executive director Ismet KESHI stressed that transparency and accountability of public institutions are the key preconditions for good governance and democratic governance.
Power Minister Lokal Elbert Krasniqi stressed that transparency is one of the main pillars for good governance, until it has added how the minister has drafted two projects for advancing municipal transparency.
Lipjan Mayor Imri Ahmeti said that in spite of challenges with the David-19 pandemic during 2020, they have managed to meet indicators for municipal transparency.
While, Rahovec Mayor Smajl Latifi stressed that the municipality he leads in recent years has progress in increasing transparency thanks to the commitment of municipal officials.
