Former President Thaci's lawyer, Gregory Keohe, has sent his credentials for the release of the former president's detention to the court. In these parliaments, Keohe, in addition to countering evidence presented by the prosecution, also gives details of guarantees offered for release from Thaci's detention.
Although the Kosovo government was unwilling to issue guarantees of the detention of KLA leaders found in The Hague, two other states have shown this readiness.
This is confirmed in former President Thaci's special president, Gregory Keohe, who has seen the news.net.
The latter, while detailing the states in question, says one of them is a special contributing country.
The most important “, since the First Decision, protection for Mr. Thaci has now received written guarantees from two states, (“Third States”, one of which is a contributing state, to facilitate Mr. Thaci in their respective territories”, said in Keohe's parade.
It is not known, however, which of the countries have offered guarantees for Thaci's release, while Slovenia was also mentioned.
Thaci's American lawyer further says the specialised prosecutor completely missed the time frame when he planned to start the trial.
He says that in Kosovo, Thaci no longer has the impact he had earlier, and that this fact does not pose any danger for interference in the procedure in the event of his release from custody.
“Since the pre-procedure judge's decision on January 22nd, 2021 that conditions for detention were met, the circumstances of these procedures and Mr. Thaci, they have changed significantly. After voluntarily resigning from the President's Office on November 5, 2020 and surrendering to DSK's detention, Mr. Thaci has now spent nearly eight months in prison. The SPS's original claim that it would be able to meet intelligence obligations to allow the trial to begin in the summer of 2021, has been exposed as a monumentic misinterpretation (or miscalculation) on its part, with the pace of SPS discovery likely to delay the trial until mid-2022. During this eight-month period, the area of political support for Mr. Thaci and his influence in Kosovo have largely evaporated, with the February 2021 elections placing the former president in the weaker position of his political career. At the same time, the judge of the preliminary procedure has decided what could easily be described as the broader witness protection regime set before a Kosovo or international court, said in Keohe's parade.
Yesterday it was reported on another part of Keohe's argument, where he mentions elections in Kosovo and the convincing VV victory as a fact that Thaci no longer has the slightest political influence.
In this spirit of arguments, he has even cited downloads to AKI, RTK and the AKP.
He also mentions President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti, who he says built their political career against Thaci.
