Protest in Lipjan: Girls Justice, enough of Institution Negligence

Starting at 11:00, in front of parking lot. RTV 21, Pristina

Protest in Lipjan begins at 12: 00 p.m., before the Centre for Social Work.

Fuck.

This Friday, July 16, 2021, the Kosovo Women's Network organised protests before the Centre for Social Work (QPS) in Lipjan, to seek responsibility for the multiple rape and mistreatment of the 13-year-old minor by Janjevo, whose case was made public by the media in recent days.

The protest before the QPS comes in response to the neglect this institution has made to the case, since it has been informed, but has not taken the necessary steps, as legally envisioned, to prevent chain abuse done to the minor.

Violence against women and girls in our country continues to remain among the greatest human rights violations, yet it is one of the least punishable crimes in the country.

Exasperated by this situation, this Friday, we gather to raise our voices to the systematic rape that women and girls in our society experience every day, as well as the institutional neglect to commit to this violence.

The main demands of this protest are:

To fire the manager/or the case, the/who was informed of the fact that the minor was homeless;

Take all necessary measures to rehabilitate the minor physically, psychologically and emotionally as a victim of this rasati, as well as its social integration;

To increase municipal monitoring of the Centres for Social Affairs (QPS), and to highlight the role of the Directorate of Health and Social Management in this respect -- as is seen in the Law on Local Self-Government and the Social and Family Services Law;

To become the continued training and certificate of QPS employees, focusing on gender-based violence, and an improved approach to victims, avoiding any new-traumatisation of any kind;

To enforce sanctions and disciplinary measures against QPS and social workers who do not operate standard action procedure (PSV), the Social Services and Family Services Law or the National Strategy for Protection from Family Violence (SKMDHF);

To train and educate social workers, to implement the Law on Child Protection, and their responsibilities in this law, including implementing interventions and taking measures to prevent and protect children from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and violence;

Kosovo police and the Prosecutor's Office, as well as all responsible justice institutions, ensure the punishment of all abusers involved in child rape.

Fuck.
