People from the world's most optimistic, Kosovars, increased satisfaction with institutions in May, according to UNDP

Public opinion measurement polls show significant increases in citizens' satisfaction with the work of key executive, legislative and judicial institutions in Kosovo compared to the previous poll conducted in December 2020.
This poll was conducted in May.
Following are some of the main finds:
The satisfaction registered with the executive cabinet performance is 59.1%, which represents an increase of 37.8 percentage points compared to the December 2020 poll when this value was 21.3%.
The registered level of satisfaction with the prime minister's work is 59.5% (23% in December 2020), while satisfaction with the work of Kosovo Parliament Speaker has increased from 46.7% in December 2020 to 59.2% in May 2021.
The highest satisfaction rate of 63.7% is registered with the work of Kosovo President, compared to 33.9% registered in December 2020.
The Democratic Index (ID) has increased by 0.26 points (1.58) compared to December 2020, when this value was 1.23 points showing that most of the newcomers are satisfied with democratic trends in Kosovo.
Economic Stability Index (IBE) has increased from December 2020 (0.84) and reached 1.49 points, showing a significant increase in citizens' confidence in Kosovo's economic perspective.
The findings also show substantial growth in the sense of security in respondents, with 76.4% feeling safe when they are abroad (in public), compared to 68.4% registered in December 2020.
The three key problems Kosovo currently faces are unemployment (34.3%), poverty (19.3%) and corruption (9.3%). Kosovo Serbs consider unemployment (16.7%), public and personal security (14.8%) and urban space problems (12.9%) as the biggest three problems, while for other Kosovo communities the biggest problem is unemployment (51.2%), followed by poverty (18.9%) and energy supply (11.4).
Respondents expressed, on average, satisfaction with Kosovo institutions' response to the COVID pandemic-19 with 43.6% satisfied with the measures taken by the executive cabinet.
