According to them, rejecting President Osmani's request for allegedly interpretation by the Constitutional Court, in a case that was fully legal and constitutional, speaks of the political bias the country's president has received in an effort to undermine opposition parties.
Its latest action not to appoint PDK representative and member political subject V AKAT, was only in service of the Vetevendosje Movement to give her the third member to be appointed a co-party of President Osmani.
Kosovo's Democratic Party invites president not to be reluctant to adhere to the Kosovo Constitution by appointing the PDK's second representative to the CEC and other member of political subject V AKAT.
In Article 139 of the Kosovo Constitution, it is clearly defined how the appointment of members from the ranks of Albanian parliamentary groups is made. “-six members are named by members of the six largest parliamentary groups represented in the Assembly, which have no right to participate in dividing reserved seats. If fewer groups are represented in the country, larger groups or groups can appoint additional members”, the Constitution says.
President Osmani's biased political behaviour is jeopardising democracy, political pluralism and the functioning of independent constitutional institutions.
The PDK has long voiced concern that President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti, through efforts at the Constitutional Court, are trying to deny a constitutional right. PDK, as the second largest political party in the country.
