Croatian police have issued a statement detailing the circumstances of the tragic bus accident on the highway near the town of Slavonski Brod.

Croatian police said that at 6:19 this morning they accepted the accident report on A3 Bregana-Lipovac Highway, in the southern lane near the town of Slavonski Brod. In the Police's statement, it has been described how the bus, with 67 passengers and two drivers, emerged from the highway.

Meanwhile, 14 people who survived without injuries to today's terrible morning accident on the highway to Croatia's Slavonski Brod, are currently sheltered and cared for at the Pansion Antonio facility in this city offering hotel services, reports Index.hr.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has declared it a day of mourning Monday because of this accident, which claimed the lives of 10 people -- mostly of the people who were coming from Germany for vacation in Kosovo.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, along with some of the ministers, has been headed towards Croatia, while Kosovo's Ambassador to Croatia, Gzim Kasapali, was in advance at the regional hospital in Slavonski Brod, where they are receiving treatment over 40 people who were injured by the accident on the A3 Zagreb highway dealt with Lipovac, of the Kosovo bus “Tours”, which took the lives of 10 people.

He has been seen tearful, as he has expressed condolences to the victims' families, saying they and those who were injured “are our people working in Germany”.

Croatian Civil Protection chief Damir Trut and Health Minister Willi Beross were also at the site of the tragic event where 10 people died as a result of the accident of a Kosovo bus that was coming from Frankfurt to Pristina.

After visiting the hospital in Slavonski Brod, where 45 injured sought help, Willi Beros turned to the public, showing that 15 people have been seriously injured, among whom a minor girl, reports Index.hr.

Regional hospital director Dr. Josip Samardzic said 45 people had been admitted to the hospital since morning, who had sought medical assistance after this serious accident on the highway near Slavonski Brod, and that eight of them were badly injured.

According to the Croatian medium, 24sata.hr, Kosovo bus drivers carrying exiles from Frankfurt to Pristina had been resting in Bregana for half an hour before the accident. There they had changed, and the other driver had taken the bus route. It's supposed to be because of the driver's fatigue.

One of the drivers who wasn't driving at the tragic moment is dead, while the suspect is staying at the police station.
