The deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Albanian Medici, has warned new figures for mayors in local elections to be held on October 17th.
She said in an interview for Online Economy a number of candidates of this party have testified to themselves and the same will continue again, but will have young names, and according to her, the greatest innovation was that of Rama, Pristina's presidential candidate.
“From candidates published by the LDK, a number of them are mayors who have testified to themselves according to the same polls, and we have made the decision that those of the same communities will continue with these municipalities, but there will be new figures I believe in other municipalities, but since they have not yet been discussed, I cannot talk about other names, but that the greatest innovation was Rama Progress candidacy, and especially with women's involvement as much as more and not just to fulfill the quota, but that many have to give the <1x>
Medici considers there will be an increase in the LDK, adding further that there was no dissatisfaction within the party as noted, but that they respect different opinions from each member.
“We believe that there will be significant vote increases if we compare the total percentage of support we have received in the national elections, despite not reflected in local elections. As a percentage I believe there will be growth, and we will aim to keep those municipalities that we have run so far and why not win in other municipalities”.
I wouldn't say there's dissatisfaction, but there are different opinions, and not just for candidates who will run in local elections, but different opinions about the reactions that the LDK should have or our positions face different issues. So there are different opinions, but what we're doing is to look through surveys of what support there is from citizens”.
She said the LDK has been and will continue to be constructive on each important issue, and will be constantly critical.
“I think that the LDK as the opposition has shown that it has really played a constructive role and as we said at the outset. We will do the same in other matters, but we will also criticize and demand that we have more information on various processes”.
In addition, Medici commented on the government's work, Kurti, in terms of dialogue, naming it with inadequate reporting and lack of information.
“Dialog is one of the most important issues, regardless of whether in the pre-election period and when the Vetevendosje Movement was in opposition, it declared that dialogue is not at all priority, but turned out to be in the first place. What we've seen in the Kurti Government during the time of dialogue is generally lack of information about the dialogue process and the key principles of this dialogue and we haven't seen reported to the Assembly before the launch it had in Brussels”.
“We like LDK have the predetermined role in dialogue, because Government has the main role in this direction because we are opposition parties in the Parliament, but also we have participated in informal internal meetings for our positions on dialogue, as it is a matter of national interest”, Meekqi stressed.
