LDK response to departure of safeguard clause for construction materials from Serbia
In the opposition, trucks coming from Serbia -- now in power -- Vetevendosje welcomes the construction material from Serbia and removes barriers that governments had put forward!
They came to power by misleading citizens, promoting that Kosovo has been economically subdued to Serbia and that past Kosovo governments were traitors to these actions.
But, as soon as they came to power, they abolished the 2016 safeguard clause for local building materials producers and opened to producers from Serbia the doors of the Kosovo market. The party, which just months ago, claimed that in the first days of governance, they would impose full reciprocity with Serbia, now in power, is removing all safeguard clauses against Serbia.
It is unacceptable, if not funny, that the government's reasoning that the 2016 deadline has expired and that they will make another investigation to restore this measure. Why the government and the ministry did not make this investigation earlier and then make the decision. They have absolute power in government and majority in the Parliament. They have the political power and sufficient numbers to make new decisions that protect local producers and, if necessary, change laws in the Assembly.
Those who have had plenty in opposition, many empty words, links and humiliations do not serve you in power now. The government seeks knowledge, which they don't have; it requires courage, which they don't find; it requires creativity, which they don't even know what it is. While the price of their empty patriotism, where they literally revile other parties and with decisions embrace Serbian products, Kosovo producers and our citizens will pay.
