This year's first meeting of the two countries' negotiating teams, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi and the head of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Petar Petkovovic, was held in Brussels under dialogue for normalisation of relations.
European Union Special Representative (BE) for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak had separate meetings with representatives of Kosovo and Serbia delegations to finally hold a trilateral meeting.
Lajcak reported on Twitter that during the meeting, a number of elements of dialogue -- past agreements, current issues and future steps in normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia -- held broad and deep discussions, and that all agreed that many jobs remain and will continue to engage.
While Petar Petkov, the chief of the Serbian delegation, praised it as a very difficult and tense meeting.
Petkovic claims that the Kosovo side never mentioned the issue of the missing or the formation of majority Serb municipalities.
For Association we have told them it's a condition of all conditions if we want to go further. The association of Serbian municipalities implies the realisation of all the rights of Serbian citizens, because numerous incidents are evidence of how necessary the formation of the association”, Petkovic said, broadcast Telegraphy.
Kosovo delegation leader Besnik Bislimi stressed that both sides presented their views in implementing the agreements reached so far.
The head of the Kosovo delegation confirmed that at a long-hour meeting with Lajcak on Tuesday, he presented a list of all agreements and noted where there is no adequate implementation from the Serbian side.
He cited the agreement on joint control of borders, recognition of diplomas, the Certificate of harmful goods, freedom of movement, as well as the agreement for the introduction.
All these are agreements, which we believe the Serbian side has not fully met its” obligations, Bislim said at the end of the meeting.
A new meeting of negotiating teams has been warned for next week and will be held through video connection.
