Kurti as prime minister and as politician likes to play words, he's not for <x0Henenen”

Political analyst and economic expert Dardan Sejdiu says Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti must change his radical attitude towards “min Schengen”, after saying such economic projects lead to a deeper link between Western Balkan countries and their approach to the European Union. “Z. Kurt as [...]
“Z. Kurt as prime minister and as a politician likes to play words. It is not for <x1 minus Schengen”, but for the regional market, not for one thing, but for another that makes the same sense. A trade agreement is more important than an agreement dealing with the free movement of people, so it's more about freedom of movement of capital and goods, which means necessarily for people. He plays words to collect political points in Kosovo. Otherwise, he tells foreign governments he is open to regional trade relations, which should be better”, Sejdiu told “Kosovo Online<5>.
“Mini Schengen” is a joint initiative of Albania, Serbia and Northern Macedonia from 2019 on free flow of goods, capital and people in the six Western Balkan countries, but this was unacceptable to Kosovo authorities from the start. Except for current Prime Minister Kurti, the Balkan initiative “Schengen” did not find the support of the then Kosovo government, led by Ramush Haradinaj.
Haradinaj believed that the <x0m Schengen” could harm and jeopardise Kosovo, because, according to him, “it enables increased Russian and Chinese influence in the Balkans”.
However, when Avdullah Hoti became chief of the Kosovo government, the Washington Agreement was signed, in which Kosovo pledged to join <x0-> Schengenin”.
Sejdiu stresses that the new government should not ignore this obligation and that international agreements should be respected. He says Kosovo has already become part of the “Schengen” zone, regardless of what authorities call it, adding that the common economic market is the best option for the region, taking into account the current situation in the Western Balkans.
“A has any other country than Bosnia and Herzegovina, in that area <x1fermin Schengen” where Kosovo citizens cannot go without ID. You travel only with identification to northern Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro. With Serbia, we also have agreement from the Brussels agreement. The Schengen Minen exists in terms of freedom of movement, we are now working on administrative-procedural issues”, Sejdiu said.
