Four days after the meeting of expert delegations in Brussels, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Kosovo Democratic Institute(KDI) consider there is much fog in the new chapter of dialogue. According to them, the chief executive should report to the Assembly before and after each meeting with the Serbian side.
On the other hand, the Vetevendosje Movement denies opposition claims, while saying Prime Minister Kurti has extended an invitation for inclusion in the dialogue process.
MP PDK, Hajdar Beqa, sees concern over the failure to report Prime Minister Kurti to the Assembly for his first meeting with Serbian President Vuciq.
He for Kosovo Press has said that all former prime ministers have done so, until now there is no official agenda for dialogue with Serbia.
“We see there is a lack of transparency of the talks, if we look at it in the past, the former prime ministers before any meeting between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia have come to the Assembly, have discussed the agenda they have in Brussels. The same time they returned, they did the same. However, the current prime minister, Mr. Kurti, has not yet done so. For me as an MP is disturbing and more disturbing the lack of transparency is for citizens, since we do not have an official state agenda in relation to Serbia”, Beqa has said.
The criticism of non transparency in relation to dialogue with Serbia is also addressing Violet Hajoli from KDI, who has said the Parliament should not be avoided in such a significant process for the country.
The lack of transparency is accompanying this new chapter of dialogue, as we are calling it. Prime Minister Kurti has not yet reported in the country last meeting with President Vuciq. We as KDI consider that the Assembly should not be avoided in this important process such as dialogue, especially given that the Assembly is the highest foreign policy watchdog. Therefore, we too call on Prime Minister Kurti to come and report to the Assembly regarding the meeting, proposals he has presented there to clarify further for MPs. It also provides information on what is being discussed in technical groups attended by Mr. Bislim and what is expected to be discussed at the July 25th meeting. There is a number of information that the government has not shared with either the Parliament or the public”, it has declared.
But all these claims deny Vetevendosje Movement MP Alban Hyseni.
In the dialogue process we've always made an invitation for all involvement, on the other hand, there is transparency as it was reported in advance. We have spoken in the Assembly, and Prime Minister Kurti also reported on the question of dialogue and preparations that are being made in the Parliament of Republic”, Hyseni has indicated.
A high-level meeting within Kosovo-Serbia dialogue has been held so far, with participants Kurti-Vucciq and a meeting of expert groups. Prime Minister Kurti, but not even his subordinates have reported to the Assembly for these meetings, but before leaving for Brussels for the first meeting, the government leader has discussed the long-standing performance of dialogue in the country. The second summit, meanwhile, is expected to be held at the end of July. /Kosovopress
