Krasniqi thanks the co-partisans for their faith: We'll work on a clearer vision for the country.

New Chairman Memli Krasniqi's PDK through his Facebook account has thanked all delegates at today's PDK Convention that entrusted him with the party wheel.

Krasniqi said I will do everything necessary for the PDK to return where it belongs, as the most powerful party and with the most clear vision for the country.

PDK leader Memli Krasniqi's full statement:

I express the endless gratitude of all delegates to the 10th Convention of the Democratic Party of Kosovo for the confidence, vote and support they gave me today to lead our party in the next two years.

Our common political family is launching a new chapter as well as its own, forever respecting each other's past, present, and contribution. But always looking to the future.

The PDK is a party of Kosovo's good people -- rescuers and patriots, intellectuals and visionarys, teachers and professors, doctors and nurses, artists and athletes, entrepreneurs and exiles, farmers and workers, women and men aimed at a dignified life and a state that makes them proud.

I will do everything necessary for the PDK to return where it belongs, as the most powerful party and with a clearer vision of the country. As the main political address for our citizens.

And to achieve that goal, I consider our fundamental unity reconfirmed today for the way ahead of us, for the need to free and mobilise our inner potential and co-operate with new values and energy that will join us in this new political project for PDK.
