Kosovo cannot run tests to detect eventual cases with the Delta variant, as there is no reaction to this, the Health Ministry's response reported. These tests, the Ministry takes them to Berlin.
Reaction is the substance that affects the conduct of a reaction or analysis, and such a procedure requires equipment, expertise, environment and specific infrastructure.
On June 29th, Kosovo recorded two cases with the Delta version of the Coronavirus, which is spreading rapidly worldwide. Test results for this option were conducted in Berlin.
Unlike Kosovo, neighbouring states such as Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina consistently convey the spread of the Delta variant.
The Delta version, originally identified in October last year in India, has a higher rate of infection of 50 to 60 percent higher than other variants, affecting younger ages.
Skender Syla from the World Health Organization in Bulgaria told Radio Free Europe, that the inoculation of citizens, at this time when the Delta version is spreading, is very important.
He added that Kosovo must build capacities so that tests are up-to-date, depending on the development of the epidemiology situation and the release of new versions of COVID-19. He also said that further epidemiological steps should be taken throughout the stages of pandemic.
“) The steps to be taken are) Early identification of the cases, their isolation, their physical or social distance to the times when it is identified as having the virus spread. As far as tests are concerned, each country does number of available resource-based tests based on capacity and needs. However, it is a blessing that there are now international networks, where even if it cannot be sequenced to the current location, samples can be sent to other countries”, Syla said.
Isme Humolli, professional emergency official at the World Health Organisation in Kosovo, said that this organisation is helping Kosovo as soon as it comes to providing test materials for the Delta variant.
Meanwhile, Pristina Infectious Clinic Director Arben Visaj said that the clinic he heads is in a position to handle cases with any variant of corruption.
“Voranti Delta does not have any particular treatment protocol, but the treatment is like the other variants that have been previously, even this option should be addressed with the same protocol”, said Visaj.
Vajaj said existing variants of COVID-19, but also those that can be discovered in the future, are disturbing if citizens are not vaccinated.
“Vaxination is the only tool that is necessary, it is very necessary to become mass inoculation of the population so that in the future, such situations such as may come, not to surprise us for the worse”, he said.
WHO officials have confirmed that existing vaccines against coronary, “are effective”, against the Delta version.
Otherwise, since the start of the vaccine process in Kosovo, the number of people vaccinated with both doses of vaccines is 67,578, while the total number of administered vaccines is 260,955.
In the last 24 hours, 6,361 people have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
The National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo on Monday recorded five cases of coronary infection after testing 1,050 samples.
Since March 13, 2020, when the first cases of infection have been recorded, health authorities in Kosovo have registered 107,859 patients with this virus.
Of them 2,264 are dead.
