Kosovo, Albania launch co-operation in holiday health

The state health inspectors of Albania and Kosovo are controlling health centres and subjects offering services in tourist areas in Albania. Co-operative activity comes for the first time and aims, according to the two inspectors, to ensure the health of citizens of the two states, during the tourist season. Kosovo Chief Inspector Shaban Osmanaj tells America's Voice that the joint action between the two health inspectors marks the establishment at a higher level of co-operation launched after the joint agreement, signed five years ago. Osmanaj says inspectors are conducting concrete actions in tourist areas to see health conditions.
This is the goal of joint inspections, to look, to exchange information, how service is offered, under what conditions. We have jointly presented this project with Albanian counterparts for a healthy tourist season”.
While Albania's Chief Inspector of the State Health Service Vjollca Braho says the two inspectors have carried a huge burden of responsibilities in managing the situation with COVID-19. According to her, they are able to help each other with the experience created.
“We are coming from a difficult experience that has passed Albania, Kosovo and the whole world. We have been the institution that has implemented all protocols approved for the Corleone pandemic by the Ministry of Health and the norms of the Albanian government for all subjects performing services in Albania. Now we are at a time when some of the protocols have been eased, but the attention of the two inspectors must be stable, especially in the new variants of the coronary. ”
Mrs. Braho says new health centres have opened this year in tourist areas to be available for medical assistance.
“For the tourism season by the Ministry of Health has opened 29 new health centres this year throughout the coastline to be closer to vacationers. Except for the existing centres this increase is to have a healthy and secure season for all vacationers to come to Albania. ”
The inspection troops estimate that measures for the condition of the coronary pandemic, though relaxed, require constant attention to new variants. The Ministry of Health in Kosovo has confirmed the first cases with the “Delta” variant of the choreographer.
During the pandemic situation and the first half of this year, tourists from Kosovo took the main part of vacationers from abroad to Albania. According to the Albanian Institute of Statistics in May alone, an estimated 144 thousand citizens from Kosovo -- almost twice the same period in 2019, ahead of the pandemic situation.
Meanwhile, the first 5 months of this year in Albania are estimated by official data that over half a million tourists from Kosovo have entered to rest in Albanian tourist areas. / VOA
