Kosovo citizens will have the opportunity to choose for themselves the kind of vaccine they want to get.
Although all vaccines available to the country are certified, those who will be vaccinated will also determine the type of vaccine they want to receive.
The Health Ministry has told Express that citizens have the right to choose vaccines in cases where the vaccine centre has 2 or more types of vaccines available against COVID-19.
Director of Health in Gjakova, Aferdita Spahiu-Skullaku, has said that citizens in this municipality can choose which vaccine to take.
However, it has indicated that depending on the patient's health, doctors will also assess which vaccine is best for citizens.
This is going to be an anamnesia depending on the condition of the patient. If he has health problems, he will be given Pfizer vaccines, if good, he can be vaccinated with AstraZeneca. However, the vaccine is not ruled out. We're giving the second dose of AstaZeneca. We still haven't had the supply from those who have come”, she said.
Otherwise, it has indicated that it has had the interest of citizens to get Pfizer's vaccine.
While, even the director of health in the Gjilan municipality, Salaami Xhemaili has said that citizens of this municipality will now be able to choose between Pfizer vaccine and AstraZeneca.
With the arrival of additional doses of vaccines, Xhemaili has said he is hoping to begin vaccinating more citizens.
We're hoping that by starting to increase the number of vaccines given, given that many other categories are allowed to be vaccinated. So far only the second dosage has been taken by the citizens of AstraZenecaı, now they have the opportunity to choose it. Once they have the opportunity, citizens can get which vaccine they want”, he said.
The director of Health at Pec, Petrit Loci, has stated that all vaccines available in the country are certified, so even giving them will not be problematic.
He has indicated that even citizens' interest in vaccinating with these vaccines is great.
“The interest is high. Awareness has reached the desired levels. We do not have a problem with the type of vaccine, since all vaccines are certified. Citizens will be offered vaccines, and the important thing is that only certified vaccines enter our country and there is no room for differentiations”, he added.
We remember that 206 thousand and 443 against individuals have been vaccinated in Kosovo so far COVID-19.
49 thousand and 616 people took the second dose of vaccine.
And citizens' interest in vaccinating against COVID-19 is estimated to be large.
