The Social Democrat Party organised an activity against imposing the 5 euro tax that the Kosovo government made public. The event was held before the Ministry of Justice where the inscription “Zvata” was placed on official cars.
During this activity, organized by P The DS, Kosovo Police, arrested 9 members of this party who were released after the interview.
That's why, KMDLNj urges the Kosovo Police Inspectorate to investigate whether police have exceeded official authorisations using excessive force.
“KMDLNj has not been informed of this task so it has not sent a monitor. On the basis of footage by the protest, it appears that during the arrest police have been using force in distribution with the risk posed by protesters. That's why, KMDLNj urges the Kosovo Police Inspectorate to investigate whether police have exceeded official authorisations using excessive force. KMDLNj supports any peaceful protest that is in accordance with the law, as a democratic instrument for realising human rights. Violence against Protesters for KMDLNj is unacceptable and images during the arrest are very disturbing”, the KMDLNj report said.
