In recent days KFOR forces, in the vicinity of the Monastery, have been strengthening barricades.
Such a move has prompted the citizens' response, who have said these barricades reflect uncertainty, political pressure and obstacles to the development of normal life in these areas.

Regarding the establishment of these barricades, KFOR in a response to Telegrafi has said this has been done in order to protect the monastery.
“Works were blocked after failing to comply with the conditions agreed on in the design phase for the execution of jobs by the labour-prison company, in particular in terms of compatibility with the Special Protection Areas Act (LI-039, Article 6), which guarantees the protection of monasteries, churches and other Serbian Orthodox religious locations, as well as historical and cultural locations of particular importance for the Serb community, as well as other communities in Kosovo. This law aims to protect from any development or activity that could harm the historical, cultural, architectural or archaeological context, the natural environment, or the aesthetic visual environment”, have stated by KFOR.
KFOR has further stressed that works in this area will resume after the technical problems are resolved.

“Works will certainly resume once the technical problems are resolved. All sites of religious and cultural heritage are valuable to all people in Kosovo, and all should contribute to their preservation”, KFOR's response said.
And Decani chairman Bashkim Ramosaj has said he has been informed of the deployment of new barricades in the vicinity of the monastery.
Ramosaj, in a pronomination for Telegrafi, has said his insistence has been that these barricades be completely removed.
I've always insisted that these barricades right away. A few days ago they came to the office and informed me that they would remove the concrete pyramids they were in, but because of the situation and the context with the monastery, I was told they couldn't remove everything but I had to put some new barricades out of the wood, where it was said they were going to plant flowers”, Ramosaj said.
He added that the overall evacuation of these barricades has not been possible due to the situation with the monastery.
My “Insist is that these barricades were completely remote, but because of the area of responsibility and noise that the European Monastery Nostra is taking risks, they couldn't get away from it altogether, and they put up some wooden barricades where they'll plant flowers”, Ramosaj said.
