KFOR Public Relations Official Jacques Rivard has said this request for support came through KFOR at Regional Command East.
“Helicopters will be in the sky during the next hours until the fire is under control. I would like to stress that neither the Regional Command East nor KFOR Staff is the leader of these fire fighting efforts, but we are here with all our air assets to support Kosovo's organisation in Pec that are fighting fire”, Rivard said.
We remember that Rugova's region in Peja is now facing fire as Interior Minister Jedal Svechla said the fire has already been located and people and their properties are safe.
