Kosovo's non-recognition by five European Union countries (BE) poses a danger to its EU security umbrella. So it was said at the meeting of the parliamentary Commission for Foreign Affairs and Diaspore, as political unity and strategic national plan was called for in representation of Kosovo abroad.

Commission Chairman Haki Abazi said the open process of dialogue has created the justification of 5 EU member states to extend recognition of Kosovo.

He said it is necessary to exchange experiences from the past in order to serve as turquoise for the continuation of the process.

The open process of dialogue, at least in my opinion, has created some kind of excuse for state that awaits the conclusion of dialogue with Serbia to become formal recognition of independence. But, at the same time, thanks is to most of these that have not hampered Kosovo in many important processes. ... But that doesn't in any form replace the ultimate goal we have as a state, so that we can be recognised by these five countries in priority. Of course, our aspirations are to take seats in the United Nations. In some meetings with representatives of these countries, formal and informal, the form of how it is paved is that Kosovo's non-recognition is a risk of EU umbrella security. It means some paradox that EU members themselves risk the EU's security umbrella, leaving Kosovo in a vague situation”, he said.

AAK MP Time Kadrijaj said the country's non-recognition by 5 EU nations is an obstacle to Kosovo's aspirations.

It also raised the issue of free movement, saying it is unfair that Kosovo does not have visa liberalisation, while stressing that other countries are gaining candidate status.

A big obstacle is because we want to be part of the UN, part of NATO, and it's exactly the non-recognition of the five countries that are hindering us through these processes... ] At each table of discussion should be a requirement of discussion and at the government level, and we who develop parliamentary diplomacy, whenever the opportunity to provide us for bilateral meetings should be a requirement, even visa liberalisation and recognition from countries that have not yet recognised Kosovo's independence”, she said.

She criticised the approach of Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Gervala, in addition to these processes. As he spoke of the importance of drafting a common strategy regarding five countries that have not yet recognised Kosovo.

“This is a wrong approach of Minister Gervala to avoid these tables, because we represent Kosovo's interest. ... I'm surprised, officials, foreign policy representatives to make such mistakes is terrible. Addressing the research group, we call all dialogue organizations that have access and we can make a common strategy as commission”, she said.

PDK MP Ariana Musliu -shi said a strategic national plan for representation of Kosovo in foreign diplomacy must be drafted.

She added that through friendship groups, bilateral meetings can be organised so that representatives of countries that have not recognised the country can become better acquainted with what is Kosovo.

“The only way we can get back in touch and meetings with them is through the counterparts commissions or through friendship groups”, she said.

Vetevendosje Movement MP Dimal Basha said groups and parliamentary deputies should be targeted in countries that are sceptical of visa liberalisation and invited to a 3-day seminar so that the latter can see reality in the country and serve as ambassadors for the country.

At the meeting of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Diaspore, 56 groups of friendship will serve meetings with other countries' parliamentary groups were also discussed.

In this case, MPs demanded that the overhaul of the regulation take place, for which the task force, consisting of MP Dimal Basha and MP Ariana Musliu Shoshi, was selected.

Commission Chairman Haki Abazi said names for friendship groups only sent them AAK and Vetevendosje Movement.
