Arrested under this operation are Maxim Sota, prosecutor in Vlora; Festing Lelaj, former police officer in Vlora; Ilir Balla, chief of the Anti-Traffic Sector at Directorate General and Saimir Kurti, director of the Kavaja municipality.
Journalist Merin Maci reports that people involved are accused of corruption, abuse of duty, money laundering and international trafficking of considerable narcotics.
Also, decisions on sequencing alleged assets stemming from incomes of criminal activity or other illegal income are being implemented, worth several million euros.
In the next few hours, Italian authorities are expected to hold a conference where more details of this operation will be provided. /Euronews Albania/
