Because of the closeness of both families, he says, he had to be completely spared in debates with Kurtesh. Haziri has also said that Kurteshi knows his pre-war contribution as activist.

Haziri had won the 2017 elections and is chairman of Gjilan while he has again run for a mandate.
Haziri says he's going to have the VV now.
“In Gjilan the rivalry was LDK- The PDK, now is LDK-VV”, he said on the Pressing Show in T7.
