According to the head of fire fires that began about noon at the height of the mountain pastures, it progressed rapidly favored by the wind and is now located near an olive block of nearly 500m from the dwellings.
20 fire departments are trying to control the flames, while for hours they have sought help from neighboring circles as well as the military.
The fire has so far burned several dozen hectares of shrubs and several parcels planted with olives and fruit trees, while fire fighters and residents have been trying to create plantless corridors to disrupt the progress of the fire.
Two other fires are advancing in Saranda parallel to that in Ksamil, Vagala and Delvin, respectively.
Fires also burned olive trees and bushes, hives, and fruit trees.
It is thought that all three cases are linked to intentional fire.
For the fire approaching the residences in Ksamil, there has been a delayed intervention, as the number of firefighters and vehicles was insufficient to intervene simultaneously in three hearths. /tch
