Family employment, who saw the Kurt 2 government?

Kurt had promised a new culture of government, which would not have party and family employment.

These promises, according to opposition and civil society, have been overlooked by the government, which they claim is making a new move in the name of the state.

Medjide Demolli-Nimani, director of the non-governmental organisation FOL, told Radio Free Europe that party and family employment has forwarded Kosovo over the years.

We have had not only family members, but there are many militants who are being accommodated in different positions, which all these procedures, unfortunately, are being kept secret”, she said.

According to her, people in key positions in state institutions have also changed with the change of powers, a practice that was largely criticised by the now ruling Vetevendosje Movement.

Demolli-Niman said that if there was a process of actual recruiting and on merit-based even the prime minister's brother if he took a position but passed a literal and merit process for that position, it would be acceptable.

Albana Rexha from Democracy Plus (D+) told Radio Free Europe that any decision that allows one to be part of an institution violates the institution's own integrity, but also of the government that is in power and weakens the development of democracy in the country.

According to her, civil society and journalists should make differences in political appointments, such as those in cabinets and various advisory bodies, with classic employment in civil service and on boards of various companies.

“State background should not be guided in this form, only with the replacement of these boards, so I'm thinking that we as a civil society should be very vocal”, she said.

“If employment is fully based solely on political proximity or family ties, it presents a huge obstacle to the development of the country, especially when all of this, not credit, political proximity and family ties are associated with noncompetent people for the task they have received”, Rexha added.

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP (PDK) Ferat Shala told Radio Free Europe that the Vetevendosje Movement has violated all the principles with which it won the elections.

The “is a really serious and delicate situation, at the expense of independent institutions and what has been called state retaliating, when in principle we are now having a new grip on completely unprepared people, initials at work and with typical family ties”, said MP Shala.

In his view, decisions made by the government regarding such employment should be annulled.

Finally, Sulota Aliu, sister of the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Lieburn Aliu, has been employed at the Kosovo Ministry of Health Watch Council.

The rulings have also benefited relatives of the deputies of List Gexo, who are part of the ruling coalition. In the Ministry of Health, the MP's uncle's son, Haxhi Avdyli, Emrush Avdyli, was hired.

On Tuesday 27 July, the Central Board for Special School has been named Driton Vela, former LV for MP, who is the brother of Blerim Vela, adviser to president Vjosa Osmani.

The charges of opposition and civil society, as well as of Radio Free Europe, have not been answered by officials of the Vetevendosje Movement.

Not even after two days of waiting, the ruling party's media office has returned no answers to the employment that has occurred since taking power on 22 March this year.
