European Bars Agency (EMA) today approved the use of anti vaccine CO VID-19 Moderna for 12-17-year-olds.
The Spanish of the American biotechnology company “Modernna” becomes the second injection authorized for teenagers in the European Union.
The administration of the vaccine (Moderna) for 12-17-year-olds will be the same as that of 18 and older persons, two injections four weeks apart.
“The EMA build environment for human use (CHMP) has recommended expanding use for anti vaccine CO VID-19 Spipvacx (Moderna) for children between the ages of 12 and 17”, the European regulator reported, ATS.
The effects of this vaccine were studied in a research involving 3732 children between the ages of 12 and 17.
The findings showed that the vaccine produced at 12-17 years of age a response of antibodies comparable to what has been observed in adults aged 18-25.
Teenagers usually develop less serious forms of COVID-19 than older ones but are not immune to infection, thus playing a role in the transmission of the virus into the population.
