The small number of immune teachers are being assessed as worrying and risking the normal continuation of the new school year. As far as the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation say there is no law that makes the vaccines mandatory, by the United Education, Science and Culture Union states they will not object if the vaccine of teachers is imposed.
In a written response by the Ministry of Health, it has become known that to date, about 7 thousand and 200 teachers have been vaccinated in Kosovo.
“Based on current data, in Kosovo vaccinated against COVID-19 about 7,200 teachers of different levels”, said the MSH response.
The small number of vaccinated educational personnel are also being seen as disturbing to the United Education, Science and Culture Union. Ymer Ymer, representative of this union, tells Kosova Preis that there is no reason for teachers to refuse the vaccine.
He points out that the inoculation of educators may affect the new school year of risking physical presence in school facilities.
For us as SBASK, this small number of vaccination of educational workers is also concerned, because as we know it has created an opportunity for all to be vaccinated and not vaccinated by educational workers may cause no school learning process. So we appeal to teachers, to all educational workers, in particular teachers, to be vaccinated because there's time for the first dose to be taken and the second dose before the start of the Chox1> school year, says Ymer.
