Phone numbers of Dubai's two princesses are reportedly found as part of an investigation into the software for spying, Pegasus.
Princess Latifa is the daughter of the mayor of Dubai, while Princess Hayya Bint al-Hussain is his former husband, the BBC writes.
In February of this year, the BBC released a secret video of Princess Latifa, in which she said she was being held hostage and feared for her life.
Meanwhile, Princess Haya had fled Dubai in 2019 saying she was afraid of her life. United Arab Emirates authorities have denied the claims of both women.
Their numbers are on the list of about 50,000 numbers of people believed to be interested in Israeli-based company clients, NSO Group, which developed spy software, Pegasus.
The human rights protection organisation, “Amnesty International”, has issued a statement claiming these findings include the NSO Group company in catalogation of human rights violations in the case of the two princesses.
However, the Israeli company has said it has done nothing wrong and that its software is used against criminals and terrorists, as well as has access only to military agencies, intelligence and law enforcement forces.
