The Ministry of Interior of the Nordrhein-Westfalen region reported four other lifeless bodies, bringing the number to this region to at least 30 dead”, while the neighboring region of Rheinland Pfalz estimates there are nine more dead, except for 19 of those already listed.
Culn police have reported 20 deaths in the southeastern Westphalia area of Euskirchen, reports ATS.
There are also dozens of missing persons.
Western Germany was hit by heavy rainfall and floods.
Many of the missing persons were found on the roofs of houses that were swept by the raging river in the Schuld municipality of Rhineland-Palatinate”, said a spokesman for the Cyprus police.
“We still don't have a clear view of how many victims there are and we're looking for helicopters for missing persons”, said Armin Laschet, Prime Minister of the Nordrhein-Westphaen Land, one of the most affected places in Germany.
