Croatia's State Attorney's Office has announced that the driver was tired and unable to run the vehicle, while after being questioned and detention measures sought, the Index reported.hr.
“on July 26th 2021, the District Attorney's Office in Slavonski Brod has questioned the 52-year-old citizen of the Republic of Kosovo due to the suspicion of carrying out the criminal act of causing a 148x1-> traffic accident, the lawyer's office first announced.
There is a suspicion that the 52-year-old suspect was driving a bus in the south lane of A3 Highway near Sibinj on July 25, 2021, about 6.15 in the morning, contrary to Article 47, paragraph 2 and Article 198, paragraph 1 of the Road Traffic Safety Act, and that in a state of fatigue and inability to conduct the vehicle safely”, the lawyer added.
It further says that “did not move to a sufficient distance from the right edge of the road, so it ended up in the bar area on the south side”.
Otherwise, Josip Mataija, the chief of Traffic Security Service in Croatia, has earlier confirmed that bus drivers had not been changed for long and passengers were not connected to seat belts.
