State Commission nominated for inheritance damages assessment during recent Kosovo war

This commission is tasked with researching, collecting and managing all necessary information and evidence from public and non-public archives, as well as all other reliable sources of official information with the aim of full and depleting implementation of the task for research, registration, inventory, assessment and documentation of cultural and historical sites destroyed during the 1998 and 1999.
The commission is obliged to draft reports of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and announce the prime minister's office as well. At the end of the work, his mandate respectively, the commission is obliged to draft a final report along with an assessment of the damage and/or the historical, cultural, social and spiritual importance of destroyed objects, as well as their rough financial cost.
The minister, Hajrkull Ceku, has praised this government decision as a very important moment, as we officially launch the process to demand accountability and compensation from Serbia for the deliberate destruction of hundreds of Kosovo monuments.
The state commission consists of 14 members who are professionals and representatives of state and professional institutions, as well as international professionals.
On this document and in accordance with international standards, request for compensation will also be compiled, Minister Ceku has clarified.
