Kurz was to sing the state anthem that leads during granting Austrian citizenship to the descendants of Holocaust victims, however, judging by the recording all went wrong.
As the tune of the anthem was intoning, Kurz said: “well, there are certainly people who can sing better than me”
He then tried to persuade someone present to sing it instead, and since “selected” was not very happy about it, because that part belonged to him, he suggested that they sing it together.
The Chancellor was not pleased with the proposal, so during the anthem's intonation, he just opened his mouth and laughed.
