This is the biggest drug seizure in Paraguay's history, police added.
Police Director Luis Arias told reporters that cocaine was found on the outskirts of Fernando de la Mora, and smugglers were preparing to unload it with a load of sugar, Reuters reported.
We're talking more than 3,400 kilos of cocaine. This is a joint action of the narcotics unit and the prosecutor's office, lasted about a month,” said Arias, adding that it is unknown where cocaine would be sent.
Previously, the largest cocaine seizure in Paraguay occurred in October 2020, when police discovered 2,900kg of drugs.
