Great Britain Embassy Hails Zoran Vukotic's Sentence for Rape During War

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has sentenced to ten years in prison -- Zoran Vukotovic -- for war crimes against the civilian population, respectively, sexual violation of Albanian women in the municipality of Vushtrri.
This is the first case someone is convicted of such a crime in Kosovo, by local courts.
The British Embassy has welcomed this decision, while saying it is a historic moment.
“We welcome the announcement of the first sentence for the crime of sexual violence committed during the conflict by the Kosovo Courts. This is an important historical moment for Kosovo and victims of sexual violence”, the Embassy's announcement said.
