Halleyin, a town near the country's border with Germany, was one of the worst hit places this week, which killed dozens in Germany and other European countries.
And according to Turkish media, when the rains caused floods in the city, Salih and Ayşe Karaaslan found themselves in the face of a difficult choice: crossing the route where their restaurant was located to reach a safe place when the floods began to cover the country or stay there.
They decided to pass through the raging waters just to be carried by a strong current. At that moment, their neighbor Alexander Eisenmann jumped into the water and dragged the couple to safety after a hard battle.
The rescue video was shared by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kıran, who also released an online praise to Eisenmann with a German review message. Eisenmann's heroic action, born of humanitarian responsibility, is worth it. We give the most heartfelt thanks”, wrote Kıran on Twitter, writes tg.
