Today, it is three years since the national issue's life, Adem Demaci, known as Kosovo's Mandela.
From the village of Lupq of Podujevo, Demach was born on February 26, 1936, in Pristina, while on July 26, 2018, he passed away.
He was active for the national cause in Yugoslavia's time and fought for Kosovo's equality with other republics.
Known as a symbol of national resistance, the late Adem Demach today would be 85 years old.
For his political commitment, Adem Demaci suffered 28 years in Yugoslavia's prisons. After his release, he immediately continued his political activity. He was also called Nelson Mandela of Europe.
Demaci led the Council for Human Rights and Freedoms (KMDLNJ) from 1990-1995. In 1991 it was honoured by the European Parliament at the Sakharov Award. During the 1998-1999 period, when meetings were held in Ramboullet for Kosovo's future, he was the KLA political spokesman. He was also chairman of the Kosovo Writers' League (2005-2007).
Today, people of national resistance are identified by the name of Adem Demac, as he became a symbol of the unification for the preservation of the Albanian nation over five decades.
Adem Demach's life and work became a personality of the size of human history, which includes our national history. He wrote the novel “Blood Snakes”, which was banned by the former communist regime. He saw the light only after the 1990s.
In memory of the anniversary of going to eternity, today the book of Adam Demach “My books -- my great destiny”, is inaugurated at the headquarters of the Kosovo Policy Prison Society at 10:00.
