Abazovic after meeting with Basha: Doing Practical Things for the Good of Peoples

Thus declared Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, after meeting with Democrat leader Lulzim Basha during his visit to Tirana, where he met with Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Ilir Meta.

“I am very proud to be the first official of the new government to come on an official visit to Tirana, but I have absolutely enjoyed meeting any political subject that has to do with what the change of Albania should be in the future and the leader of the opposition today has welcomed me to the Democratic Party headquarters. We have discussed concrete challenges that we have had in Montenegro before this change came, challenges which are more or less the same. We need more to conform to European standards, to be sure that what we promote, we really want to do. Let's not be on edge so one side promotes universal values and on the other we promoted Balkan values”.

From democracy, regional policies, joint Albania-Montenegro goals, the economic development of the two countries, and European integration of the two countries were the topics where conversation focused between Democrat leader Basha and Deputy Montenegrin Prime Minister Abazovic was focused.

“The interest of the Democratic Party and of myself for our northern neighbour, and in particular for our countrymen in Montenegro, has been and remains permanent, and during today's conversation, I found with greater satisfaction that Deputy Prime Minister Abazovic's commitment makes the desired difference of decades by Albanians there and overall by citizens of Montenegro, but also from the Democratic Party whether in government or opposition. Our topics of discussion, of course, have depended on democracy on regional policies and on the goals that bring us together, the economic development of our countries and our peoples, and the European integration of our two countries after successfully concluding Montenegro's challenge of joining NATO as the newest member, of course with the support of Albania”, Basha said, while praising Montenegro's deputy prime minister as a courage to modernise and operate politics as an instrument of change.

For his part, Abazovic invited Albanian leaders the president, prime minister and opposition leader to visit Montenegro to work together in behalf of both peoples.
