The RTP was the first Kosovo Albanian television radio. The disruption of programmes from this television was made with violent measures taken by the Serbian government in 1990.

Radio Pristina began working soon after World War II in 1945 in Prizren, then moved to Pristina.

After the war in Kosovo, the materials and buildings of Pristina Radio Television are under the administration of Kosovo Radio Television.

Until then, the only information media was Radio Pristina (in office from 1945). 19 years would pass until Pristina Television began broadcasting in 1974.

After the end of Kosovo's 1999 war, the way was opened for Kosovo's free television establishment. One of them was Kosovo Radio Television, which took place in the same building as is h - RTP, on “Gemajl Pristina” street in Pristina.

In early 1974, The RTP did not have electronic technology, but the entire film technique program material was run and then sent to Belgrade TV, where the film was held and later assembled for broadcast.

The broadcast until November 29, 1975, was conducted by Belgrade TV.
