One of the preconditions for the start of the new school year, according to the Ministry of Education in Kosovo, is vaccination of teaching staff and monitoring staff with anti-socation vaccine COVID-19.

According to the ministry, so far, about 23,000 teachers across Kosovo have been vaccinated by the end of last week.

Kosovo Government Education Minister Arberie Nagavci said that teachers in Kosovo should be vaccinated and exemplary for others.

She said she does not know exactly why there is a kind of reluctance of teaching to vaccinate.

I expect teachers, as individuals who are qualified to take their stand and decisions, to be vaccinated and any doubts about the vaccine, to be sent away for others. Through their vaccination, they will be the best example even for those who may have some hesitation of”, Nagavci said.

In Kosovo, there is no law that can force any category of society to be vaccinated against COVID-19 disease, which causes coronary.

The examination of teachers, says the minister, Nagavci remains a moral duty.

With sufficient legal basis, we cannot impose on such a thing, but I expect teachers to be a good example”, Nagavci said.

In the Ministry of Health, through a written response sent Radios Free Europe, officials said it is very important that teachers be vaccinated before the start of the learning process, to provide protection from the virus for themselves, for students/ students, and, as they say, even regular continuation of the educational and educational process.

There is no such thing as “There may be individual cases that have not yet been vaccinated for various reasons, but data from the vaccine process shows that health personnel in Kosovo, most have been vaccinated. The same cannot be said for now about teachers, but the MSH expects that they will respond positively to the vaccine, given the vital importance of the education and health sector in Kosovo”, say the Ministry of Health not to mention any other category of society that may have a reluctance to vaccinate.

The Kosovo Parents' Council says that with the beginning of the vaccine process, alongside the United Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK), but the teachers themselves have sought to be a priority category in the vaccine process.

Kosovo Parents' Council Chairman Ymret Resiti says that now, when circumstances and vaccines are created, it is meaningless that there is a reluctance by teachers to be vaccinated.

This is really disappointing, this hesitation, when the vaccines are provided, and there's a lot of hesitation from the teachers not to take this vaccine and it's unwarrantable”, says Resiti.

Rashit says that in the health of the students, authorities must condition their teachers to be vaccinated.

“We have requested from our institutions, the Ministry of Education, to make condition that the teacher, who has not received the vaccine, has no right to continue the teaching process, is on September 1st. We are right in this case because we protect the health of our children”, he says.

The United Education, Science and Culture Union (SBASHK) is expected in the coming days to co-ordinate with the Education Ministry to make a greater appeal for teachers to be vaccinated.

The union's chairman, Nundman Jashari, said that the eventual lack of vaccine from teachers would make it difficult and could damage the learning process.

The vaccine's not taking away will cause problems, much more so when this Delta version is more contagious, as experts are saying. The vaccine would enable a better and trouble-free school year even in school institutions”, Jashar said.

The Council of Parents of Kosovo, says 2020 -- and the first part of the year 2021 -- as a result of the pandemic has been challenging and harmful to the education process in Kosovo.

The Council says the country's ministry and other mechanisms should be well prepared for the education process not to have greater consequences in the new school year.

In France, parliament has adopted legislation that makes vaccines against coronary mandatory for health care workers.

The law, which makes vaccines mandatory for health care workers, gives them until September 15th to be vaccinated otherwise, risks suspension.
