On Saturday, DUI -- the party that inherited the former National Liberation Army -- announced that the green agenda would be the main pillar of its party programme.
“Enough with Albanian, Macedonian, Serbian, Turkish words, Vlach. We have citizens in the country. I want to welcome him because it is a step forward, especially when he comes from the largest ruling party in the Albanian political bloc. It's very important when politicians go public and give their word. This means commitment and obligation to apply it in practice. I think about the Social Democrat League (LSDM), but also about DUI and all other political parties”, Zaev has declared.
He stressed that citizens expect LSDM and DUI, but also from the Besa Movement, the Albanian Democratic Party (PDSH) and all other parties that are part of the government coalition, to work in the future to strengthen workers' rights, to work for the green agenda, environmental protection, and economic development.
During the 19th anniversary of DUI's formation, the leader of this party, Ali Ahmeti, said the green agenda as the main pillar comes after implementing the Ohrid Agreement agenda for Albanian rights.
“We have set equality through full implementation of the Ohrid Peace Agreement, legalisation of higher education in Albanian, decentralisation, national symbols and culture, Albanian language, fair representation and adequate NATO integration, taking the green light for EU membership”, DUI chairman Ali Ahmeti said on Saturday.
The Albanian opposition has accused DUI of giving up the rights of Albanians, which it claims have not yet realised.
A party out of the war, from the red and black emblem, passed in blue, is trying to deceive citizens, and especially Albanians, with green. Still without solving national or thematic problems as they claim to call them, today they said they will deal with green jobs”, opposition party spokesman for Albanians Flafron Bexhet has declared. /rel/
