Von Croamon: Association engaged in final package agreement, change of borders is toxic

The European Parliament's rapporteur for Kosovo, Violet von Cremon, has stated that if visas are liberalised for Kosovo, then people will more easily accept compromises that could emerge from the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. According to her, the idea of changing borders is toxic, so there can be no debate about it.
These statements, Von Croamon, made in an interview for Kosova Prees, during which he also said he is eagerly awaiting the final dialogue agreement.
We're all looking forward to having a final agreement that would bring reconciliation for mutual recognition on both sides. Therefore, we must continue this dialogue with the aim of normalising the reports between Kosovo and Serbia. That's more important. It is important for you, for your citizens in Kosovo, it is important for us in the European Union, because without it there can be no European way for Kosovo”, she has said.
According to her, Kosovo's long-term prospects should be integration into the European Union. The compromise issues, she says, become more acceptable if visas are liberalised for Kosovo citizens.
“As I said, I am not a negotiating party and I have no mandate to show anyone what a compromise might look like. I think it's very valuable to calculate everything that's important to national interest. To calculate what is necessary for Kosovo and what is the long-term outlook, and I see that the long-term perspective is definitely integration into the European Union. But you're right. For this, visa liberalisation must be the first step, ahead of the reform phase. I think Europe should prove that it has accomplished its duties, that they will give the green light to people in Kosovo and then I would say it would be easier for people in Kosovo to accept a compromise, whatever it is”, she added.
On the other hand, Von Croamon also spoke of the idea of changing borders, which she called toxic, so there can be no debate about it.
“can absolutely share the prospect of people changing borders is toxic and there can be no debate about it. It would harm everyone in the region. We had a similar debate about Bosnia, so we need to distance ourselves and leave the case behind. I have mentioned that the issue of missing persons is curious and we know there have been some achievements for this”, he said.
The European Parliament representative warned agreement on Association on the final agreement between the two countries.
According to her, the Republika Srpska model in Bosnia should not be followed for this ass.
There will be something about the Association for Serbian Minorities, but how it will be drafted and how it will look, what its executive competencies will be, I mean, what kind of executive powers there may be and of course it shouldn't be anything like Republika Srpska in Bosnia. Therefore, I think that many diplomatic forces should pass through all points from the Ahtisaari Plan, and then the Association of Serb majority municipalities will be only one issue. I understand why Prime Minister Kurti is not willing to talk about this issue at this point alone and to his position that we should wait and see what's in the package and then decide how to deal with this item”, she continued.
