Officials have said that one train was traveling to the province of Sinho, and on this trip it came off track and entered the train tracks. The second train inside the passengers then crashed into it and turned around.
The search-saving teams took the wounded to hospitals in the vicinity, and it is thought that many of them are in critical condition, reports the BBC, translates Periscopi.
Pakistan has had a series of deadly train accidents in recent years.
Between 2013 and 2019, 150 people have died in these incidents, according to local media reports.
A senior official from the Ghotti district, named Usman Abdullah, told Reuters that it was hard to know how many people were stuck on the train.
Prime Minister Imrah Khan said it was “shocked” by the accident and promised full investigation. /Periscope
