Senior Canadian Commander resigns why he played golf with a man under investigation

Rouleau said he invited General Jonathan Vance to play golf to ensure his well-being. The Supreme Military had authority over military investigation into the case against the person who invited him to play golf.

The military who resigned said they did not discuss the investigation with Vance, but acknowledged that his decision has intensified recent events and that it has contributed to damage to confidence in the military, the BBC writes.

General Vance, who left the military in January, has denied the charges of sexual wrongdoing. The news of the highly talked golf game spread last weekend. On June 2nd, Rouleau admitted to playing golf in Ottawa with Vancen and Marine Forces Commander Craig Baines.

The resignation of the top military official came days after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was declared, who said Rouleau and Baines must answer for themselves.

In recent years the Canadian army has been involved in claims and accusations of illicit sexual behavior. Some military leaders are under investigation for improper conduct toward their colleagues.
