Kosovo Radio Television Board board member Ilir Bytyci has resigned.
Bytyci's resignation comes a day after the Commission for Public Administration, Local Powers, Media and Regional Development has voted the recommendation for downloading the RTK Radio Television Board.
In his resignation letter, Bytyci wrote that his resignation has signaled dissatisfaction and inability to make changes in Bord and Management, as well as despite the situation created at RTK
“over this nearly nine-month period while I was on board, with the goal of raising accountability and transparency I have tried to make my professional contribution in many areas. Among them, I initiated the request for RTK to be audited for performance and financial assessment by the National Audition Office, which was followed on April 22nd by the decision to make a public statement by the RTK audit board”, he wrote in the resignation letter. So as a sign of dissatisfaction and inability to make changes in Bord and Management, as well as despite the situation created in RTK, I resign for moral and professional reasons”, the letter of resignation says.
Following the Commission's recommendation vote, the dismissal of the RTK board is expected to be voted in the Kosovo Assembly.
