The agreement between Kosovo and the Pfizer company was reached late May, meanwhile, Health Minister Arben Vitita had later announced that Kosovo expects 1.213.290 doses of the vaccine from this company by the end of the year.

The year had also said that the mass communication plan envisions providing a number between “300 000 and 400,000 vaccines per month”.

The first Pfizer vaccine framework from the signed agreement, we believe, will arrive during the week”, Telegraph sources said.

Otherwise, as Telegrafi reports, it is the first contract Kosovo has managed to sign with any pharmaceutical company to provide vaccines against coronavirus.

So far, Kosovo has used vaccines donated by the World Health Organisation's COVAX programme and the European Union.

Currently, the mass inoculation process is under way in the country, which began on June 15th, while the priority lies with people over the age of 65 and those with chronic diseases.

The Kosovo government has said it aims to vaccinate 60 percent of its population by the end of the year.
