Although previously officially in Peru there were 69,342 deaths from Ovid-19, this figure has now risen to over 180,000, the BBC writes.

Peru has been one of the most affected states of the pandemic in Latin America. This country has faced a huge health system and lack of medical oxygen.
The chairman of the Peruvian Association of Doctors, Godofredo Talavera, said increasing the number of victims has not been a surprise. There was no government support in beds in intensive departments and oxygen. We don't have enough vaccines right now. The first line of care has not been activated. All of this makes us the world's first as far as mortality is concerned, he said.
Peru already officially has 180,764 dead by Coddy-19. This number is much higher than in neighboring countries like Colombia with 88,282 dead and Bolivia with over 14,000 casualties.
